The Intra-Entrepreneur 

The Silent Majority,

Wow today I had the opportunity to learn something new. I know we should learn something everyday!. But I wonder how many people are learning new skills and new information on a daily basis. I would suggest that most people are repeating the same day using the same skills and information that they used yesterday or dare I say the same skills they have been using for a decade or more!!!. ( I wonder if these same people complain about what they are paid?)

Does repeating the same day, the same year, year after year make them more valuable?

Well I certainly think that if you are not learning new skills and/or learning more about your product or service niche, then you are not becoming more valuable to the market place. This would explain why people work for years in low paid jobs (requiring little skill) and receive little pay. So why not starting Today decide on a new skill and take 2009 as the catalyst to make yourself more valuable.

Before I close this short article let me share something I learned yesterday. It's an incredibly exciting time right now, despite all the doom and gloom of the news and the 'credit crunch'.

All business/ Industry has what is called a Industry cycle. For example we have all heard of the franchise scheme, although I bet many readers didn't know that it came within 11 votes of being banned. The system we recognise today as Franchising was initially started way back in the 20's and the Opportunity was pushed by true Entrepreneur's.

How many entrepreneurs are their in the Market place?

This is obviously a subjective question. Who knows the answer to that but it's easy to see that by definition it is the few, the small percentile of individuals willing to pioneer an opportunity from nothing ( well an idea ), and turn it into an enterprise that provides jobs and creates wealth. God Bless these individuals and there efforts over the last 100 years to bring about opportunity and growth Especially in times of downturn and economic uncertainty.

If your still following me then maybe you like many, many individuals today have certain entrepreneurial flair and skills and you are currently (hopefully) being encouraged to practice those within a more certain more risk adverse environment. Maybe you have engaged in your own Franchise opportunity and are already following a System that you know works. A business of your own within a bigger more structured business. This would identify with the term Intra-Entrepreneur or Intrapreneur

How many Intrapreneurs are their in the market place?

I believe far more Intrapreneurs exist. I feel that it's a sleeping giant and that's why i am so excited today about the opportunity that surrounds us. The army of Intrapreneurs that really want the success that entrepreneurs enjoy but have up until now been steadily working in their day jobs not ready to commit. Researching or following other pioneers implementing home based/ web based business's. Business's that just like the early Franchise business's were challenged by convention. The time is coming where the average person not possessed of privilege, education or birthright can take control of enough skills to build an enterprise of global proportions.

These are truly exciting times as the next wave of Intrapreneurs, many times more in volume than entrepreneurs take up the reigns and start to build there portfolio of opportunities. The Entrepreneurs have established the business models of the future, and with a little research it's not difficult to find these business models on and off line. The incredible thing is the ability for so many more people using a proven system without 'risking it all' can be mentored with new skills and strategy's to build a successful enterprise of their own in today's economy.
