The Marketing General

For any one doing their homework they will know that internet marketing is a massive business. Here in the UK we, as I was told recently, are a “special case”.  It seems we are cynics, skeptical and difficult to market to. We are set in our ways with our stiff upper lip and British resolve.

It takes more than a cheeky ad and a smile to get us Brits to part with our cash and as many in the U.S have found their marketing efforts have fallen on deaf ears. I recently watched a short video from a well known and respected UK internet marketer talking about the fact that despite the economic pressure internet business’s are still pulling nice profits almost on autopilot, and yet what caught my attention and brought me to make this post was the comment left on the video.

There are many Internet Marketers using the GPT business model getting paid today driving traffic to affiliate sites and making sales and the video of this well known UK internet marketer went on to show sales of £5400+ for a 24 hour period. In fact the video was posted just today! Not an insignificant amount of money particularly in the present economic climate.

Anyway I digress, the comment left asked the question ” any chance of seeing your results over a longer period of time?!

It occurred to me that it is uniquely British to observe £5400+ in a 24 hour period and then ask for further proof! The implication is that it was a fluke! lol I love the British and the way we think its in our blood our culture.

At no time in the past have so many people had such opportunity, the economy may be on its arse, yes many people are pulling in their belts, but how many people right now today are thinking there must be a better way! There nothing quite like a lean period to focus one’s attention on where to invest for the future, £2k on a holiday or $2K to make a fortune. Let’s not wast a good recession!
